TRANSPORTATION
 

Getting to the island is the first step. Once on the island there are several transportation options from bike and golf cart rentals to an all day pass on the Garibalid City Bus. The Conservancy's Wildlands Express is a great way to get up to the Airport in the Sky. Several transportation options offer discounts to Catalina Conservancy members. Learn more about membership.


CONSERVANCY ECO TOURS

Wheel into the wildlands with naturalist-led Conservancy Eco Tours. With access to more than 200 miles of roads, Conservancy Eco Tours explore parts of the Island that no other outfitter can reach. Whether you are seeking a unique educational experience in the great outdoors or simply a relaxing eco-tour, we are certain you will go away with an unforgettable experience and a new appreciation of Catalina Island. On the tour you might see bald Eagles soaring high above, the shy Catalina Island fox, and American bison, not to mention rare plants and archaeological sites. WILDLANDS EXPRESS SHUTTLE

The Wildlands Express Shuttle is a convenient and inexpensive way to traverse the Island, travel to and from the world famous Airport in the Sky and see Catalina’s wildlands. The shuttle also stops at Little Harbor. The Wildlands Express Shuttle leaves from the Conservancy's Trailhead visitor center in Avalon at 708 Crescent Avenue. Book a trip on the Wildlands Express.


GARIBALDI BUS

The City of Avalon operates the Garibaldi Shuttle, which provides service on a fixed 4-mile route including the Trailhead, all the way up to the Nature Center and Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden. The all-electric Avalon Transit services operate 365 days a year, with each fare costing $2. Learn more.
 

BIKING

Biking is a great way to see Catalina’s wildlands. To bike in the wildlands of Catalina a Freewheeler Bike Pass is required, and is available through the purchase of a Conservancy membership starting at $35. The Island has 40 miles of trails and roads open to mountain biking. Find more information about mountain biking.
