This month, we’re celebrating Reptiles!

Join us for an immersive workshop where you’ll explore the symbolism of snakes through art and reflection while learning fascinating facts about these incredible animals on Catalina.

Discover the cultural significance, artistic representations, and real-world biology of snakes as we delve into their role in Catalina ecosystems and human history. Then, use this inspiration to create your own original piece of art through stitchwork as a contemplative practice.  Prefer drawing? Colored pencils will also be available.

About the Instructor:

Rickie Redman is an artist and end-of-life practitioner whose work focuses on the snake as a rich symbol of renewal and regeneration. She integrates stitchwork as a contemplative practice, reflecting on the seen and unseen energies of the world, the power of healing, and honoring the expressive handiwork of her female ancestors.

With a career in the nonprofit sector supporting older adults through art and social engagement, Rickie’s educational offerings are rooted in creativity, curiosity, self-reflection, and community. She currently serves as the Director of Aging in Place Services and End-of-Life Practitioner at Laguna Beach Seniors.
