Tap into your creative side during the Conservancy’s Plein Air Paint & Sip Member event on Catalina Island’s windward side, at Shark Harbor.
This member event will be led by esteemed artist Michael Obermeyer, whose 20-year-long career in illustration includes works for Disney Studios, the Anaheim Angels, McDonnell Douglas, Coldwell Banker, and the United States Air Force. Many of his paintings are in the U.S. Air Force Historical Art Collection in the Smithsonian Institute and the Pentagon. His expertise in illustration extends to landscapes and figures. Michael has extensive experience sketching and painting vistas from Avalon to Two Harbors and has been frequently featured in Catalina: The Wild Side Art Show & Sale.
We will gather at the Trailhead Visitor Center for transportation into the wildlands. Our journey will take us to the scenic Shark Harbor, where we will find our materials for this guided course. Bask in the warm sun, take in the ocean breeze and experience stunning coastal views while learning to paint alongside fellow Conservancy supporters.
Ground transportation, art supplies, a boxed lunch and refreshments will be included.
