Explore the Slithery Side of Catalina Island!

Join us this spring for an unforgettable Herpetology Excursion on Catalina Island with renowned herpetologist Jeff Lemm.

Be a part of the adventure and contribute to the understanding of Catalina’s remarkable wildlife as we journey into the island’s interior.  Join Jeff Lemm and the Catalina Island Conservancy on a quest to find fascinating reptiles and amphibians, including many species endemic to Southern California! Discover Catalina’s unique habitats and learn about the delicate ecosystems that support these incredible creatures.

This excursion departs from the Trailhead Visitor Center (708 Crescent Ave) at 8:30am and returns at 3:30pm on Saturday, March 22nd.

Important Information:

  • Boat travel is not included. Please check the local ferry schedule for transportation to Avalon on Catalina Island.
  • Lunch is not provided. Remember to pack your own snacks and meal.
  • Stay hydrated by bringing a reusable water bottle.
  • Dress for a day in the field with layers, sun protection, long pants, and sturdy shoes suitable for rugged terrain.
  • Be prepared for some walking on uneven ground as we explore Catalina’s interior.
