Plan Your Ride: Three Steps to Access the Authorized Bike Trails

1. Become a Member

Cycling in Catalina’s interior requires an active Catalina Island Conservancy membership. If you haven’t already joined, sign up today to support island conservation while gaining access to the trails.

2. Get Your Free Pass

As a member, just visit the Trailhead Visitor Center or Two Harbors Visitor Services to redeem your physical bike pass to be displayed on your bike for each visit. View the bike trail map.

3. Make a Reservation

Before each ride into the interior, you must book a reservation through the reservation system. This system helps us manage bike trail use and enhances safety for all riders. Please note that a new reservation must be made each time you plan to ride.

By completing a reservation, riders acknowledge and agree to the waiver terms required for access to our trails.

SAFETY RULES FOR BIKING CATALINA ISLAND

For your safety, we recommend all-terrain bikes—those equipped with multi-speeds and all-terrain tires—for biking Catalina Island and its wild interior. Hard-shelled helmets are required for all bikers. Biking is not permitted at night.

Electric bikes are permitted, but must have pedals.

Please note Catalina Island is a wild place. Please do not approach or harass wildlife and always maintain a safe distance, especially from bison. Review our safety precautions.

Take plenty of drinking water on your ride, be sure to stay on approved bike routes.
