Snapshot Cal Coast BioBlitz

June 29 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Register Today!

Be part of a statewide effort to find, record, and share observations of animals, seaweeds, and plants along the California coastline. Register for our bioblitz event on Saturday, June 29th, and join Conservancy staff on an excursion into the interior of Catalina Island. Together, we’ll explore and photograph as many species as we can find along Catalina’s coast.

Your observations will become a part of a large dataset that helps researchers track the distribution and seasonal changes of species overtime. To learn more about Snapshot Cal Coast, visit their website here. Anyone can participate in this bioblitz throughout the entire month of June by recording coastal observations on iNaturalist.

Registration for this event is free. Participants will meet at the Trailhead visitor center at 10am on Saturday, June 29th, where we will head out to Little Harbor and Shark Harbor on the windward side of Catalina. We will return to the Trailhead at 2pm.

Participants should expect to spend the excursion walking. Lunch is not included, so please pack your own snacks and lunch. Bring a re-usable water bottle and come dressed for a field day with layers, sun protection, and sturdy shoes.

Join us for this exciting event and contribute to important scientific research while enjoying the natural beauty of Catalina Island!
