Catalina Island Birding Excursion

Venture into Catalina Island’s wildlands to observe diverse bird species with Laura Vandezande, the Conservancy’s expert birder. Learn about the Island’s unique avian population, their habitats, calls and behaviors while enjoying the beauty of Catalina’s natural landscapes.
When and Where
Meet at the Trailhead Visitor Center (708 Crescent Ave) in Avalon at 8 a.m. for a shuttle into the wildlands. Participants will return to the Trailhead at 2 p.m.
Important to Know
Please bring your own snacks and lunch. Participants should also bring binoculars, a reusable water bottle and come prepared for a field day with layers, sun protection, long pants and sturdy shoes. Participants are responsible for booking their own ferry tickets to and from Avalon and should plan to arrive by 8 am.
